He saw what looked like a young man dancing on the beach. He walked closer and saw that the young man was actually throwing something on the ocean. There were thousands of starfish swept by the ocean waves and were lying on the beach. The young man was actually throwing them back to the ocean trying to save them.
The old man said, " Why you throwing them back and wasting your time? There are thousands of them. It doesn't make any difference what you are doing."
The young man upon hearing this caught a starfish and threw it to the ocean. He looked at the old man and said, "It did make a world of difference to that starfish."
Moral: The point is it is not necessary for us to accomplish bigger things or bigger changes in life. Not all of us will be successful or at a position that can make an enormous difference to nature or human civilization. Point is no matter what small good things we do it matters, may be it won't matter to everyone but it will matter to someone, and that's what's most important.
